Based on the opinions of medical experts, fasting can provide various benefits to those who implement it, some of them is for peace of mind, overcoming stress, increasing endurance, and maintaining the health and beauty. Fasting has also benefit for the peace of the soul in order to avoid stress, it also can nourish the body and can help healing various diseases.
In addition, fasting can make a well-preserved or delay the aging process. So that the physical condition of staying healthy and fit, the organs of the body should get a chance to rest. This can be done by fasting.
Fasting for Muslims is one of the Five Pillars of Islam and is one of worship obligatory during Ramadhan. For Muslims, fasting is one of worship to be done. Allan Cott, MD, has brought together the results of observation and research scientists around the countries, then take in a book “why fast” which has been experiencing 17 times within eight years reprinting. In that book, Allan Cott, M.D. explains the benefits of fasting namely:
