Recently, most of the dietitian, does not recommend the use of supplement products that are marketed because the lack of scientific evidence. Are there any supplements that are proven effective? But, be sure to consult with a physician before using it. Supplements can also have side effects and interfere with medications you may be taking. And in terms of weight loss, there is no magic bullet. Weight loss programs should be based on healthy eating and regular physical exercise.
Calcium
The results of studies on the effects of calcium to weight loss is still diverse. Some studies found no association between calcium intake and weight loss.
"However, some studies suggest that consumption of three
servings of low fat dairy products a day can help you lose
weight," said Toby Smithson, RD, a spokeswoman for the
American Diabetes Association. However, Smithson said,
studies show that alloy low-fat dairy products with
low-calorie diet, is more effective for weight loss than the
use of calcium supplements.
But, he added, does not mean that calcium supplements do not help to lose weight. In an analysis, researchers found, women who received 1,000 mg calcium supplement daily, can lower more weight than women who received placebo.
Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA)
Using one type of fat as a weight loss supplement may sound contradictory, but it might help. Conjugated linoleic acid, a fatty acid that is naturally contained in dairy products and red meat, is a promising dietary supplement.
Some studies found that dietary CLA supplements can help to eliminate body fat and increase free-fat body mass. When a group of people which are overweight consume 3.2 grams of CLA per day for six months, they burn more body fat than participants who took a placebo. In addition, they also experienced less weight gain in the winter.
Although generally conjugated linoleic acid has little side effects, but these supplements can also cause stomach upset such as diarrhea and vomiting. Therefore, be sure to consult with your doctor before using supplements of CLA.
Fiber
Fiber helps you feel full for longer, so it can reduce caloric intake. "In theory, food which delayed gastric emptying and stay longer in the stomach will keep you full for longer," said Sasha Stiles, MD, an obesity expert from Tufts Medical Center . The National Academy of Sciences Institute of Medicine recommends that men aged under 50 years of eating 38 grams of fiber a day, and 30 grams after 50 years of age. While women aged under 50 years old should consume 25 grams of fiber per day, and 21 grams after 50 years of age.
Green tea extract
A study reported that daily consumption of green tea supplements can be help men and women to lose weight and body mass index (BMI is an indicator of body fat). Green tea extract also helps reduce the amount of abdominal fat which dangerous. In addition, green tea extract also lowers blood pressure and LDL cholesterol.
Meals supplements

Orlistat
Technically, Orlistat is a drug, not supplements. However, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) states that these drugs can be sold without prescription (under the name Alli market). Therefore, many people assume that Orlistat is a dietary supplement.
"Orlistat has the data," said Caroline Apovian, MD, director of the Center for Nutrition and Weight Management at Boston Medical Center. "Orlistat inhibits fat absorption, from foods to 25 percent."
Orlistat helps you lose weight along with diet and exercise combined. However, orlistat also cause some unpleasant side effects on the intestine.
